Advantage Spot On Flea Treatment: Notes from our vet
A scratching pet usually sets off alarm bells for owners - fleas! These dreaded creatures can be a nightmare for everyone if they’re not caught early. Not only do fleas make your pet very itchy, if left untreated they can also cause infections and severe allergic reactions.
Fleas are not fussy and will attack even the cleanest pet. To check if your cat or dog has them you should look for tiny black specks in their fur or small brown insects running about. A flea can lay up to 300 eggs a day so it’s really important to keep a close eye out, making sure you catch them before they cause an infestation.
Advantage Spot On is a preventative treatment that will not only kill adult fleas within a day but also stop any larvae growing anywhere your treated pet goes. This means you won’t have the expensive and time consuming task of spraying your house to stop fleas taking over.
You should treat your cat or dog for fleas every month, regularly wash their beds and hoover or steam clean the areas of the house where they spend lots of time to make sure no sneaky fleas are lurking there.
Make sure you ask a vet for advice before treating your pet for fleas. With regular checking and preventative action you can make sure you win the battle against them.
